Christian Besrechel lives in Ploeuc-sur-Lié,
where he hand-crafts bombardes and binious for traditional musicians. He is inspired by former models. He works out on box wood, fruit-wood, ebony, palissander, ... |
| Horn, bones, ivory and tin ornaments
give each instrument the appearance of old-fashioned bombardes and binious. In
Christian Besrechel’s workshop, unique pieces are created. The type of wood determines the timbre, the tone characteristics and the power of the instruments. He manufactures bombardes and binious in standard scales, major and minor, in various keys. Some traditional musicians order him special instruments like the ones used in old times, with non-tempered scales, in order to play very old tunes. |
